The Los Angeles Dodgers opened Cactus League play during 2026 Spring Training with a 15-2 win against the Los Angeles Angels.<\/p>\n
The Dodgers scored 10 of their runs in the first three innings, including six in the second inning to put the game out of reach early.<\/p>\n
Shohei Ohtani picked up the first hit of the season with a leadoff infield single down the third base line, and he ended up scoring on a two-out single from Hyeseong Kim. The third run of the first inning was scored on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n
Zach Ehrhard singled to start the second inning, and Teoscar Hern\u00e1ndez drove him in with his second single of the afternoon, making it 4-0. Andy Pages tripled home another run, and then Santiago Espinal singled him home, giving the Dodgers a 6-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Kim hit a line drive single to the outfield that made it 7-0, and Ehrhard doubled home two more runs, putting the Dodgers up 9-0.<\/p>\n
They scored their 10th run on a sacrifice fly from Dalton Rushing after back-to-back doubles from Hern\u00e1ndez and Pages.<\/p>\n
Their offense finally calmed down until adding one more in the sixth inning after a double from Ryan Fitzgerald and a single from Nick Senzel. They scored again in the ninth inning on a single from James Tibbs III, and then another two on a triple from Fitzgerald.<\/p>\n
Yoshinobu Yamamoto started the game with a perfect first inning, adding two strikeouts. But after going back out for the second, Yamamoto did not have the same success.<\/p>\n
He allowed a leadoff double to Jorge Soler before Teoscar Hern\u00e1ndez dropped a fly ball to score a run and put Jo Addell on second. Logan O\u2019Hoppe singled home the Angels\u2019 second run, and then Christian Moore singled as well.<\/p>\n
Yamamoto finished his outing with 1.2 innings pitched, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with three strikeouts and no walks.<\/p>\n
Yamamoto is scheduled to make one more start on Friday before heading off to join Team Japan for the World Baseball Classic.<\/p>\n
