Leadoff hitter Jayson Schmeisser was 7-for-7 batting with two doubles, six RBI, and five runs scored, and Cabrillo College\u2019s baseball team blasted host De Anza 26-7 in the teams\u2019 nonconference game in Cupertino on Saturday.<\/p>\n
It was the Seahawks\u2019 largest offensive output since annihilating Hartnell 28-1 on April 10, 2021.<\/p>\n
Cabrillo (9-5 overall) finished with 26 hits and drew eight walks.<\/p>\n
Ellis Lubiens was 5 for 7, with three RBI, and four runs scored. Triton Dew was 4 for 6 with a walk, three RBI and three runs. Lucas Durand had three hits, one walk, four RBI, and three runs, and Jake Fiorenza had three hits, two RBI, and two runs.<\/p>\n
Schmeisser, who raised his season batting average to .431, also had a walk and stolen base.<\/p>\n
De Anza dropped to 2-11.<\/p>\n
Cabrillo hosts Chabot (2-11) on Thursday at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

New Money Fight Club 4:\u00a0San Jose\u2019s Raul Ortiz, a Scotts Valley High alum, retained his New Money Fight Club featherweight title belt by earning a unanimous decision over Sacramento\u2019s Amarius Taylor in the co-main event of NMFC 4 at Osorio Training Center in Hayward on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The taller Taylor (1-5-0-0) dropped 25 pounds took fight on one week\u2019s notice. He nearly connected on a vicious roundhouse kick, but the mobile Ortiz evaded the strike and earned the first of his four takedowns.<\/p>\n
Taylor, taken down twice in the second period and once in the third, was forced to fight from his back for the majority of the fight.<\/p>\n
