When asked how long it took before he resumed normal preparation, Contreras estimated it took roughly two months.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAbout two months,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Now fully cleared, Contreras explained that the biggest improvement is not just physical but mental. Being free from lingering discomfort allows him to focus completely on his responsibilities behind the plate and in the lineup.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt frees your mind,\u201d Contreras said. \u201cI\u2019m 100% already.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>As a precaution, Contreras noted that he plans to continue using a small plastic insert inside his catcher\u2019s glove to protect the finger. However, he does not expect the adjustment to affect his overall approach defensively.<\/p>\n<p>With his health no longer a concern, Contreras is turning his attention toward building chemistry with several new pitchers expected to contribute this season.
