Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed his thoughts on Freddie Freeman\u2019s retirement timeline Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Freeman said<\/a> he planned to play four more years last week, and wishes to finish his playing career with the Dodgers. Roberts had nothing but praise for the veteran when asked about his comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, I think he talks about four more years, which is great, but then still has the ability to kind of focus on here and now,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cBut I just think that Freddie, with the brain works, the care is there, the mechanics, it\u2019s a sound swing, it\u2019s a short swing, that I think he could be productive, sure, for four more years, for sure.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026Right now, today, is as good as I\u2019ve seen his swing over the course of a week sample than I have in two years. So he\u2019s in a good spot physically, mechanically, so if we can keep him healthy, I just don\u2019t see why he can\u2019t have the year that he expects. And with that, with everything that he went through the last couple of years, his production was still, he was still very productive. So that says a lot about more, for me, the character.\u201d<\/p>\n

Is Freddie Freeman Good Enough to Play Four More Years?<\/p>\n

Freeman<\/a> has played under Roberts since arriving in L.A. ahead of the 2022 season, and has played some of his best baseball in a Dodgers\u2019 jersey.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old has made every All-Star Game since joining the Dodgers, and has received MVP votes in each of those seasons as well. He hit 24 homers and logged 90 RBIs in 2025, and placed third in the NL batting title race with a .295 mark.<\/p>\n

The Dodgers won\u2019t have Freeman under contract for four years, though, as his deal is set to expire at the end of the 2027 season.<\/a> If he continues to produce at the level he is now, though, he will certainly have a spot on the team for the next four seasons.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Freeman will definitely look to make an impact with the current Dodgers team, who is looking to defend their World Series title once again.<\/p>\n
