NEW YORK \u2014 Another former Arizona Diamondbacks player has found a new home for the 2026 season, heading from the desert and the \u201cCity of Fountains\u201d to the Bronx.<\/p>\n

According to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, outfielder Randal Grichuk will join the New York Yankees this year.<\/p>\n

Grichuk first signed with the Diamondbacks in 2024 and split time between the outfield and the designated hitter spot. Most notably, he was often used as a pinch hitter in late-game situations whenever a left-handed reliever entered the game \u2014 a role he has become known for, thanks to his ability to crush left-handed pitching.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the former Diamondback had a .319 average against lefties with a .914 OPS.<\/p>\n

During his time in Arizona in 2025, Grichuk hit .240 with seven home runs and posted a .734 OPS.<\/p>\n

Grichuk\u2019s tenure with the D-Backs came to an end late that season when he was traded to the Kansas City Royals at the deadline. In return, Arizona acquired right-handed reliever Andrew Hoffmann.<\/p>\n

While his time with the Snakes was brief, Grichuk provided valuable at-bats when the team needed a late spark and served as an important piece of the lineup whenever a left-handed starter was on the mound. His ability to work deep counts and drive the ball against those pitchers made him a valuable asset to the club.<\/p>\n
