<\/p>\nLos Angeles Dodgers utility man Hyeseong Kim is off to a great start this spring, and manager Dave Roberts can\u2019t stop raving over his play.<\/p>\n
Kim continued his hot streak into the Dodgers\u2019 10-7 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and run while also making some great plays in center field, including a diving catch in the first inning.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s had a great spring,\u201d Roberts said of Kim. \u201cHyesong, I think his confidence is continuing to grow. His comfort level, being around the guys, I think he\u2019s taken great at-bats. It was good to see him in centerfield yesterday, made a couple nice plays out in centerfield.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re going to lose him shortly. He\u2019s going to go to his team for the WBC, which I\u2019m excited for him. Disappointed that we can\u2019t watch him every day, but he\u2019s had a great spring and looking forward to him having a great WBC and getting back here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kim is one of the several players in the Dodgers\u2019 big league camp vying for the opening at second base left vacant by Tommy Edman \u2014 who will miss Opening Day while recovering from offseason surgery on his right ankle \u2014 and may be leading frontrunner for the spot.<\/p>\n
Leading into Thursday\u2019s game against the Chicago White Sox, Kim is 5-for-10 with four RBIs and two stolen bases this spring.<\/p>\n

How Did Hyeseong Kim Perform in his Rookie Year?<\/p>\n
After signing with the Dodgers last offseason, Kim got his shot in the majors in May 2025. He took advantage of the opportunity for the first month or so he played in MLB, slashing .422\/.458\/.600 through May while hitting two of his three home runs on the season, but his numbers declined as the year continued.<\/p>\n

He remained with the team for the rest of the season, playing just 71 games, and ended the year with a .280\/.314\/.385 slash line for a .699 OPS.<\/p>\n
Kim has already shown promise for the coming year in spring training, and if he continues to grow he will be a great addition to the Dodgers as they chase the franchise\u2019s first three-peat.<\/p>\n
