SURPRISE, Ariz. \u2014 Ignore the fact that pitchers and catchers reported more than two weeks ago<\/a>: spring training doesn\u2019t truly start until a bug hits the clubhouse. <\/p>\n

Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager<\/a> is \u201cunder the weather\u201d and will be sidelined \u201ca couple of days,\u201d manager Skip Schumaker said Friday morning. Seager recorded his first Cactus League hit \u2014 a 105.9 mph single off Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitcher Aaron Ashby \u2014 in Thursday\u2019s game to snap an 0-for-5 start to exhibition play. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s one of a handful of regulars who will not play in Friday\u2019s game against the Chicago White Sox at Glendale\u2019s Camelback Ranch alongside third baseman Josh Jung<\/a>, catcher Kyle Higashioka and infielder Justin Foscue. <\/p>\n

Jung has been sidelined since Tuesday with hamstring tightness. Schumaker said the 27-year-old is expected to return to the lineup Sunday or Monday. Higashioka is on the same timeline. He reported a back injury earlier this week but feels \u201ca lot better,\u201d per Schumaker, and is expected to participate in workouts and live bullpens before a Sunday or Monday return. <\/p>\n

Foscue, who exited Monday\u2019s game against the Los Angeles Angels with hamstring tightness, is a few days behind Jung and Higashioka. Schumaker that Foscue has gone through running progressions but is still \u201ca few days away\u201d from his return to the lineup. Foscue slashed .571\/.571\/.714 in his first three games as he battles for a roster spot. <\/p>\n
