Beloved Miami Marlins television analyst Tommy Hutton said Monday<\/a> that the 2026 season will be his last in the broadcast booth.<\/p>\n

Hutton, who played parts of 12 seasons at the MLB<\/a> level from 1966-81, has worked Marlins games for the team\u2019s regional sports networks from 1997-2015 and 2022-25.<\/p>\n

During Monday\u2019s broadcast of the Marlins\u2019 spring training game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Hutton said \u201cI didn\u2019t think a lot about it because I\u2019ve talked about this for a few weeks, actually for a while \u2026 but then once you talk to a group of people and make it official \u2026 it means a lot to me because who would\u2019ve thought when I signed in 1964 with the Dodgers out of high school that I would\u2019ve had a career in baseball as a player and a broadcaster for over 60 years. Never would\u2019ve thought of that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Long after his final season with the Montreal Expos in 1981, Hutton replaced another Expo \u2014\u00a0Hall of Famer Gary Carter \u2014\u00a0as the top analyst in the Marlins\u2019 booth besides play-by-play man Jay Randolph in 1997.<\/p>\n

Amid a rotating cast of lead play-by-play men \u2014\u00a0Randolph, Len Kasper, Rich Waltz, Paul Severino \u2014\u00a0Hutton has been a constant voice for Marlins fans nearly since the franchise\u2019s inception in 1993.<\/p>\n

Hutton\u2019s return to the booth in 2022 after a seven-year absence \u201cwas widely applauded by fans,\u201d according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald<\/a>, \u201cyears after he was dropped for reasons that were never publicly explained either to him or to viewers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hutton got plenty of time to speak to viewers about his impending retirement Monday. Now he\u2019ll have the rest of the 2026 season to bid a long, fond farewell.<\/p>\n
