{"id":611963,"date":"2026-03-07T17:20:40","date_gmt":"2026-03-07T17:20:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/611963\/"},"modified":"2026-03-07T17:20:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-07T17:20:40","slug":"kansas-city-royals-welcome-back-eric-hosmer-for-streaming-channel-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/611963\/","title":{"rendered":"Kansas City Royals welcome back Eric Hosmer for streaming channel role"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KANSAS CITY, Mo. \u2014 The Kansas City Royals are bringing back Eric Hosmer to join the Royals.TV broadcast team.<\/p>\n<p>The 2015 World Series champion will serve as an analyst.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/fox4kc.com\/watch-fox4-news-free-on-streaming-tv-devices-by-downloading-wdaf\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Download WDAF+ for Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> Download WDAF+ for Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>Hosmer\u2019s first game will be next Friday, March 13 during the Royals broadcast vs. the Diamondbacks.<\/p>\n<p>Hosmer is the second addition to the Royals.TV crew for 2026, along with\u00a0Bridget Howard.<\/p>\n<p>Hosmer and Howard join the same crew as last season, including\u00a0Ryan Lefebvre\u00a0and\u00a0Jake Eisenberg\u00a0on play-by-play duties, plus analysts\u00a0Rex Hudler\u00a0and\u00a0Jeremy Guthrie.<\/p>\n<p>The team said\u00a0Joel Goldberg\u00a0and\u00a0Jeff Montgomery\u00a0will continue to host the pre and postgame shows.<\/p>\n<p>Hosmer said he is excited to be back with the Royals organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur 2014 and 2015 run wasn\u2019t just a championship, but a city finding out what it was capable of,\u201d Hosmer said. \u201cMy teammates and I were lucky to be on that field, but the energy came from the stands with fans buying in. That bond with this city doesn\u2019t expire.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was 18 years old when this organization believed in me, and now I get to repay that belief from a different seat. The guys on this roster are building their own story, and we all know what happens when this city believes. I want to be here when that energy comes back around.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/fox4kc.com\/sports\/royals\/?ipid=wdaf_recirc_royals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Welcome to the City: More Kansas City Royals news on FOX4;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\"> Welcome to the City: More Kansas City Royals news on FOX4 <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hosmer\u2019s previous broadcast experience includes appearances on MLB Network and as a pre and postgame host for games on Apple TV.<\/p>\n<p>He had a 13-year career in Major League Baseball, including seven seasons with the Royals from 2011-17.<\/p>\n<p>He later played for the Padres (2018-22), Red Sox (2022) and Cubs (2023).<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p>He was selected 3rd overall by Kansas City in the 2008 Draft and was a four-time\u00a0Rawlings\u00a0Gold Glove Award winner at first base.<\/p>\n<p>Hosmer was a key player in Kansas City\u2019s back-to-back American League winning seasons in 2014 and 2015 and the franchise\u2019s second World Series championship in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>He is still the Royals\u2019 all-time postseason leader in RBI.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
