Lagemann was hit by a pitch three times in the game while senior Andrew Keaveney drew a trio of walks.

Game 1: Union 14, Stockton 5

Setting the stage for the tightly contested finale of the twin bill, Union (2-0) thumped Stockton (0-2) in the opener 14-5, marking its most runs in a season debut since hanging 18 on Fontbonne University at the outset of the 2017 season.

Senior Caleb Miller left his mark on Game 1 early, hitting two doubles, driving in the game’s first two runs, and throwing out a pair of runners all before the third inning.

The Garnet Chargers touched up Stockton’s pitching for six runs on nine hits before the Ospreys scratched any runs across. Stockton scored twice in the top of the sixth, but Union responded with eight more runs in the bottom of the frame to go up 14-2.

Nine batters reached safely for the Garnet Chargers in their half of the sixth with four hits, four walks, and a hit-by-pitch from sophomore Dylan Swarts.
