A <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/mlb\/milwaukee-brewers\/brewers-news-it-sucks-quinn-priester-vents-wrist-injury-setback\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brewers pitcher who has been recovering from injury<\/a> and looking to impress in 2026 is veteran <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/tag\/brandon-woodruff\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brandon Woodruff<\/a>, as he spoke about his goals.<\/p>\n<p>Woodruff made his 2026 spring training debut on Saturday in Milwaukee&#8217;s 7-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels as he pitched two shutout innings, striking out three while allowing two hits and walking a batter. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/brandon-woodruff-makes-spring-training-debut-as-veteran-leader\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">His main goal is to stay healthy<\/a> and produce in the most important parts of the season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOpening Day is a special day, but nobody is going to remember it after Opening Day,\u201d Woodruff said, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. \u201cThey\u2019re going to remember September and October. That\u2019s what I want to be a part of at the end of the year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Besides producing on the mound, he is looking to be the veteran in the clubhouse, even if he is 33 years old, especially in what is a young group of players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t feel 33. I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m six years older than these guys,\u201d Woodruff said. \u201cI try to be a good teammate. I try to listen and learn. I try to help and have fun while doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brewers&#8217; Brandon Woodruff is a leader in the clubhouse<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3521150\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Brandon-Woodruff-of-the-Milwaukee-Brewers.jpg\" alt=\"Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff (53) delivers a pitch against the Pittsburgh Pirates during the first inning at PNC Park.\" width=\"1024\" height=\"512\"  \/>Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>One player who spoke about how \u201cawesome\u201d Woodruff has been for the team is pitcher Chad Patrick, as the veteran pitcher has been called the \u201cUnc\u201d of the pitching staff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m grateful for any one of us being able to pick his brain apart,\u201d Patrick said. \u201cI take the crap that he gives me, and kind of try to give it back, but it doesn\u2019t go over well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s awesome for this group. He\u2019s a great leader. He just really understands the game and how to pitch.
