Leo De Vries<\/a> had himself quite the Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The Athletics\u2019 top prospect<\/a> hit a pair of home runs \u2014 including a grand slam \u2014 in his team\u2019s 11-7 Cactus League win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Sloan Park in Arizona.<\/p>\n

De Vries\u2019 go-balls each traveled at over 100 mph and would\u2019ve been home runs in all 30 MLB ballparks.<\/p>\n

The electricity off the switch-hitter\u2019s bat is just part of what the Athletics were excited about<\/a> when landing De Vries in the deal with the Padres that sent All-Star reliever Mason Miller<\/a> to San Diego.<\/p>\n

The Green and Gold believe the up-and-coming shortstop is the real deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Leo De Vries has a chance to be a superstar<\/a>,\u201d Athletics general manager David Forst told Chris Townsend on \u201cA\u2019s Cast\u201d in August.<\/p>\n

De Vries\u2019 strong Sunday encapsulated what has been a solid spring, as the 19-year-old has slashed .364\/.417\/.364 through 10 games.<\/p>\n

The Athletics, who have prided themselves on stacking promising young stars such as Nick Kurtz<\/a> and Jacob Wilson<\/a>, believe De Vries has a chance to be the next in line.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I like about the aura is that it\u2019s a quiet level of confidence,\u201d Athletics manager Mark Kotsay<\/a> said about De Vries in February (h\/t MLB.com\u2019s Jesse Borek<\/a>). \u201cThere\u2019s some, we use the word \u2018swag,\u2019 to describe how he goes out and plays the game.<\/p>\n
