As the Los Angeles Dodgers get closer to opening day, the team made its second round of roster cuts yesterday, with 12 players who will not be on the opening day roster.<\/p>\n
Of the 12, two were optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma and 10 were sent to minor league camp. Pitcher Ronan Kopp and outfielder\/ first baseman Ryan Ward were the two optioned. The 10 players sent to minor league camp are: top prospect outfielder Josue De Paula, pitchers Carlos Duran, Carson Hobbs, Garrett McDaniels, Jackson Ferris, Wyatt Mills and Lucas Wepf, catcher Griffin Lockwood-Powell and outfielder Kendall George.<\/p>\n
De Paula is the Dodgers\u2019 top prospect and the No. 15 prospect in all of MLB. In 2025, in 98 games in the Dodgers High-A affiliate \u2014 the Great Lake Loons \u2014 De Paula slashed .263\/.406\/.421 with 12 home runs, 44 RBIs and a 19.0 BB% before being promoted to the AA Tulsa Drillers for four games.<\/p>\n
In 14 games with the Dodgers during Spring Training, the 20-year-old slashed .375\/.464\/.417 with an .881 OPS, four RBIs, four walks and eight strikeouts.<\/p>\n

He was in the mix for one of the Dodgers final roster spots \u2014 as he was added to the teams 40 man roster after the season \u2014 until Los Angeles signed outfielder Kyle Tucker. Additionally, he slashed just .156\/.182\/.219 in 12 games during Spring training.<\/p>\n It is safe to say Ryan Ward deserved his spot on the 40-man roster with the Dodgers.
