Just two weeks from Thursday, the Texas Rangers will be in the City of Brotherly Love to take on the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> on Opening Day.<\/p>\n

However, until then, Spring Training will roll on, and on Monday afternoon, the Rangers traveled to Peoria, Arizona, to take on the San Diego Padres<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Texas used some early offense to claim a 4-1 victory for their ninth Cactus League win of Spring Training.<\/p>\n

Andrew McCutchen made his Cactus League debut after signing a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Friday.<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for McCutchen to make his impact as he ripped an RBI-double to left field in the fifth.<\/p>\n

Brandon Nimmo had the other big swing of the day as he laced an RBI triple to bring home the Rangers’ second run of the day.<\/p>\n

Nimmo led off and played right field, both of which he will do regularly during the regular season, according to manager Skip Schumaker.<\/p>\n

Joc Pederson got yet another start at first base. He hit third and drew a walk in three plate appearances.<\/p>\n

A few other regulars got a start for the Rangers. Evan Carter played the entire game in center field, drawing a walk.<\/p>\n

Sam Haggerty played second base and Ezequiel Duran played shortstop talling a base hit in four at-bats.<\/p>\n

Mark Canha had yet another solid day in left field, recording a hit as well as a run scored. He is now batting .318 this Spring.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t a super eventful day on the mound for the Rangers, but there were certinally some notable performances.<\/p>\n

Tyler Alexander put forth yet another strong outing, going 1 2\/3 no-hit innings while walking two and striking out one.<\/p>\n

Carter Baumler continued to impress, going two innings, allowing just one unearned run as he continues his strong Spring.<\/p>\n

Josh Sborz continued his push for an Opening Day roster spot as he fired yet another clean inning of work.<\/p>\n

Peyton Gray once again delivered a perfect frame with two strikeouts as his inspirational Spring Training story continued.<\/p>\n

The Rangers will be back in action on Tuesday when they welcome the Chicago Cubs to Surprise Staduim. Jacob deGrom will be on the mound.<\/p>\n

Following Tuesday\u2019s game, the Rangers will have fewer than 10 Spring Training games left in Arizona before they take on the Kansas City Royals<\/a> in a two-game set at Globe Life Field.<\/p>\n

Until then, several key questions will have to be answered before the Rangers kick off the 2026 season.<\/p>\n
