Last weekend, my youngest son did something that amazed me so much that I decided to write this column.<\/p>\n
In our kitchen, we have this block calendar\u2014it has two numbered block that you can use to count down to some event. It has options for months, weeks, and days, too. We don\u2019t always use it, but we will when it\u2019s getting close to summer vacation, Christmas, or a vacation.<\/p>\n
While I\u2019m working on dinner, the youngest\u2014he\u2019s six\u2014comes in and starts messing with it. \u201cHey, Dad.\u201d<\/p>\n
I look. He has the calendar to 95 weeks until break.<\/p>\n
\u201cOh, cool,\u201d I said, shifting back to cooking.<\/p>\n
\u201cYep. What\u2019s in 95 weeks?\u201d<\/p>\n
We have an Amazon Echo in our kitchen, so I asked Alexa, \u201cWhat\u2019s the date 95 weeks from today?\u201d<\/p>\n
Wouldn\u2019t you know it\u2014December 25, 2027.<\/p>\n
I said, \u201cYou\u2019ve gotta be kidding me,\u201d while my son gloated and laughed. Deservedly so, albeit maniacal.<\/p>\n
In that spirit, I\u2019ve decided to take my shot at some oddly specific predictions, but of course, this is a Kansas City Royals blog, sir and madam, so I\u2019m incorporating them.<\/p>\n
Now, unlike Child #2, I put some thought into my predictions. This little project took much longer than anticipated. I looked at stats, projections, the schedule, etc., and not just for the Royals. I created my own little world of which I will only provide a snippet. Trust me: consuming the whole thing wouldn\u2019t be healthy. There\u2019s a point to that story about Pandora.<\/p>\n
But these predictions are safe to share.
