The Montreal Expos were erased from the Major League Baseball landscape when the franchise relocated to Washington, D.C. for the 2005 sason.<\/p>\n
Now, a small but important remnant of the Expos\u2019 storied past is being erased from the Baseball Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n

Originally depicted with an Expos logo when he was inducted in 2010, Dawson\u2019s plaque will be recast<\/a> to remove the logo at his request.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m satisfied that we can put it behind us,\u201d he told MLB.com<\/a> on March 11 from the Chicago Cubs\u2019 spring training camp.<\/p>\n Dawson was one of Montreal\u2019s first stars. In 11 seasons with the Expos, the outfielder won six Gold Glove Awards and the 1977 National League Rookie of the Year Award.<\/p>\n Dawson joined the Cubs in 1987 and won the NL MVP Award that same year. He made five All-Star teams over the next six seasons in Chicago. <\/p>\n Even though he played more games in Montreal, and still ranks third in Expos\/Nationals history in home runs (225) and stolen bases (253), Dawson wanted a Cubs logo on his plaque in Cooperstown.<\/p>\n The Hall of Fame has the final decision about which team\u2019s logo will depicted on a player\u2019s plaque.
