In fact, he has never led MLB in any of these categories. Webb did, however, lead all pitchers in both starts and innings pitched last season.  This is not new territory for Webb, who leads all of baseball in these categories since the start of the 2022 season. Webb doesn&#8217;t merely eat innings, though. He ranks third in wins and boasts a 3.22 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP over that span. Webb isn&#8217;t the best pitcher in baseball, but he remains, despite uncommon consistency and reliability, somehow underrated.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Webb may not be among the first 10 starting pitchers off the draft board in your league, but he deserves this attention. In a world in which precious few hurlers escape unscathed from serious arm injuries, Webb is the unicorn. The Giants and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/fantasy\/baseball\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fantasy managers<\/a> can count on durability and solid performance. Webb&#8217;s ERA cannot match that of, say <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"fb7cf413-5156-9fc2-abe0-2273b89f70db\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/lad\/los-angeles-dodgers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> LHP <a data-player-guid=\"459f01d4-79d3-2e60-2427-fddc4a82f275\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/33748\/blake-snell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Blake Snell<\/a>, and Webb lacks Snell&#8217;s Cy Young awards, but dependability matters. Ask anyone who invested early in Snell, <a data-player-guid=\"801e1ea7-15e4-fcbc-982c-9efc9d6050df\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/39878\/corbin-burnes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Corbin Burnes<\/a>, <a data-player-guid=\"5b245474-0b1d-854e-10eb-1f70b7902e6e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/41054\/cole-ragans\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cole Ragans<\/a>, <a data-player-guid=\"1a5ac7a8-3d43-3bba-ac79-580f0a46e25f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/42406\/george-kirby\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">George Kirby<\/a> and <a data-player-guid=\"af61347b-c222-7604-92c0-be4da7756430\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/32081\/gerrit-cole\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gerrit Cole<\/a> last season whether they would have preferred a 200-IP fellow instead.<\/p>\n<p>Sign up for free fantasy baseball<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fantasy.espn.com\/baseball\/welcome?addata=flb_2026_in_line_free\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/flb-1320x528_01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 2026 fantasy baseball season is here! Get the group together, or start a brand-new tradition.<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/fantasy.espn.com\/baseball\/welcome?addata=flb_2026_in_line_free\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Join  or start a league for free &gt;&gt;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As usual, this season&#8217;s &#8220;Do Draft&#8221; list is far more upbeat than its ESPN companion piece the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/fantasy\/baseball\/story\/_\/id\/48151798\/fantasy-baseball-karabell-2026-do-not-draft-list-mlb-picks-busts-espn\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Do NOT Draft&#8221; list<\/a>, for it is beaming with players in which I heartily choose to invest, at least in collaboration with average live draft position (ADP). After all, it is still all about the value. No, Webb is not worth a first-round pick. He is, however, a staff ace and a building block. Webb is perennially a solid value, and he&#8217;s now coming off his first 200-K campaign. Don&#8217;t let us down this year, Logan!<\/p>\n<p>Webb is one of many players who seem to keep finding their way onto my myriad teams, either the mock drafts or the ones that really count. You should always use some combination of statistical proof and &#8220;your gut&#8221; to find the players you want on your teams, and I admit I am more of a roto\/categories fantasy player than points-league maven, so my thoughts below reflect this. Catchers notably play less than other position players, often due to injury, and they frequently play through injuries and struggle. If they happen to break that mold one season (like <a data-player-guid=\"6c27dcb5-a741-d526-b5ac-f3988e288a70\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/41292\/cal-raleigh\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cal Raleigh<\/a> in 2025), it hardly means a repeat is pending. In ESPN leagues, with only one active catcher needed, I generally wait until the end of drafts.<\/p>\n<p>I would say Dodgers veteran <a data-player-guid=\"7e560f9f-b486-f5f1-20a4-7699c1338287\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/38309\/will-smith\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Will Smith<\/a> is one exception, as he rarely costs a top-75 pick and few backstops offer his five-category consistency. No team offers that combination of a top-heavy and deep lineup. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"122673a3-bf06-4432-6950-b8a32e52ac2e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/atl\/atlanta-braves\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Atlanta Braves<\/a> C <a data-player-guid=\"a247fad0-59b5-3203-ad32-453a1fcc3b7f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/4810190\/drake-baldwin\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Drake Baldwin<\/a> was terrific in his rookie season and, with the team&#8217;s DH spot open, he should play even more this season. &#8230; Do not overlook that <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"a6e97b3f-4244-98be-79a2-f4b33f3365e6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/min\/minnesota-twins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Minnesota Twins<\/a> starter <a data-player-guid=\"e9663276-76aa-09e3-7994-122393197416\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/41587\/ryan-jeffers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ryan Jeffers<\/a> hit 21 home runs in 2024 and he is a walker. Fantasy managers should not assume what happened two seasons ago cannot occur again.<\/p>\n<p>Deeper: <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"04b65a0b-3cca-d795-0e21-23606470418a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/cin\/cincinnati-reds\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cincinnati Reds<\/a> starter <a data-player-guid=\"0ac057a9-c508-b8d4-7d33-70bac29964bd\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/34975\/tyler-stephenson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tyler Stephenson<\/a> hit 19 home runs two seasons ago. If he can handle the workload, he is underrated. &#8230; Atlanta&#8217;s <a data-player-guid=\"c75a9e8d-6352-1631-bbdc-097f6097f5a1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/33557\/sean-murphy\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sean Murphy<\/a> hasn&#8217;t been healthy since 2023, and he isn&#8217;t today, but the power and potentially opportunity remains. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"a73e1046-e9aa-ef6b-4e0d-2a7c808cb284\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/wsh\/washington-nationals\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Nationals<\/a> rookie <a data-player-guid=\"e828aa4b-8894-3bb6-959d-4f6f1bb407c6\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/4872682\/harry-ford\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Ford<\/a> should steal double-digit bases and hit for a decent average, at least. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"74909d10-eacb-1376-ef1e-d0f37d7c67ca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/mia\/miami-marlins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Miami Marlins<\/a> rookie <a data-player-guid=\"e09a292c-d68d-36bb-a01e-c615de910a9b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/4872695\/joe-mack\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Mack<\/a> boasts power upside. &#8230; So does Giants backup and Rule 5 pick <a data-player-guid=\"6da71592-173e-3abd-8135-4fc457b4fe1f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/4751554\/daniel-susac\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel Susac<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\" lazyload lazyload\" data-image-container=\".inline-photo\" height=\"320\" width=\"570\"\/>If you knew Freddie Freeman was going to win the batting title, where would you want to draft him in your leagues?\u00a0Mark J. Rebilas-Imagn ImagesFirst base<\/p>\n<p>Dodgers veteran <a data-player-guid=\"56c5b82d-6d6a-fcbb-234f-1822a821f15e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/30193\/freddie-freeman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Freddie Freeman<\/a> may be falling too far in drafts. He is the Webb of first basemen, with solid, dependable numbers. Would it surprise if he wins his first batting title? &#8230; What must <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"5cda5067-7075-66b1-4b94-2333ab8d9807\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/chc\/chicago-cubs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago Cubs<\/a> potential leadoff hitter <a data-player-guid=\"52d0b18a-1810-3aa6-b963-84ecef72a66d\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/42415\/michael-busch\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Busch<\/a> do to earn a top-100 ADP? While he may see more left-handed pitching this season, he may also score 100 runs. &#8230; I don&#8217;t want to assume <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"f8a579c6-08b9-7584-141d-317d0645763b\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/tb\/tampa-bay-rays\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> starter <a data-player-guid=\"4d197bc2-9bdd-0f37-fb96-21bd05f8ce1e\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/40810\/jonathan-aranda\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jonathan Aranda<\/a> can&#8217;t hit 25 home runs. He destroys right-handed pitching. Watch him return to 35 homers. His ADP underwhelms.<\/p>\n<p>Deeper: Like Walker, <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"4fa2cf46-09fc-255f-74a1-2a8857b0e671\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/tex\/texas-rangers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Rangers<\/a> starter <a data-player-guid=\"b1efc0a3-1427-66bd-9233-7915ec48d0d4\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/39882\/jake-burger\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jake Burger<\/a> may never contend for a batting title, but I am ignoring his rough first season in Texas. A 35-HR option lurks. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"5b8fc9be-4020-52c6-aa28-9a0f2d4383e0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/pit\/pittsburgh-pirates\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pittsburgh Pirates<\/a> starter (and potential leadoff option versus RHP) <a data-player-guid=\"b83cb0b3-5c17-3ba4-88ad-20ebbb081eaa\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/4228472\/spencer-horwitz\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Spencer Horwitz<\/a> sure gets on base. He should be safe for batting average and may hit 15-plus home runs. &#8230; Give me all the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/35291\/rhys-hoskins\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rhys Hoskins<\/a> shares. His ADP will continue rising. Take advantage of it. &#8230; Twins youngster <a data-player-guid=\"9af0cd73-1f1e-386a-be22-cd3913df9f9a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/4977664\/luke-keaschall\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Luke Keaschall<\/a> is fast and aggressive enough to steal 50 bases and disciplined enough to offer a .350 OBP. Look for him at a mid-round ADP. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"ff1e263a-f6a6-93c3-1373-418623652ff0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/phi\/philadelphia-phillies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> starter <a data-player-guid=\"d4aefc2c-4229-3f9b-8512-991a654183da\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/42417\/bryson-stott\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bryson Stott<\/a> has averaged 29 stolen bases over three seasons and he hit .294\/.368\/.487 in 2025&#8217;s second half. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"0151aed9-9f11-ceae-195d-180ca603b64a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/tor\/toronto-blue-jays\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Toronto Blue Jays<\/a> IF <a data-player-guid=\"2cac1391-7f81-b68f-1279-5caae98d9c9f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/41287\/ernie-clement\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ernie Clement<\/a>, postseason star, qualifies at three infield spots. We can dream of 15-plus homers. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"2b9cedf3-ce60-0bcf-fafe-8cd055255685\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/nyy\/new-york-yankees\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">New York Yankees<\/a> speedster <a data-player-guid=\"80d716a0-f7a6-cc55-1d3e-60751517d411\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/42135\/jose-caballero\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jose Caballero<\/a> found a way to steal 93 bases over the last two seasons. He is eligible at three infield spots and the outfield.<\/p>\n<p>Deeper: I am surprised <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"f3f1ba71-05f1-a49a-0363-3b1d8e0db4cf\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/col\/colorado-rockies\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Colorado Rockies<\/a> offseason signing <a data-player-guid=\"4fe68af2-4aff-4439-602a-221472bf65f1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/34230\/willi-castro\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Willi Castro<\/a> is an ADP non-factor. Castro will start a lot, he stole 33 bases two seasons ago, and playing half his games at Coors Field can&#8217;t hurt. &#8230; <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"4dec648c-3eb9-055c-aebc-2711f30975a0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.co.uk\/mlb\/team\/_\/name\/sd\/san-diego-padres\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego Padres<\/a> starter <a data-player-guid=\"dfdab80b-dd70-ea4b-da40-6c0572390076\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/36364\/jake-cronenworth\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jake Cronenworth<\/a> posted a .367 OBP. One can do worse.<\/p>\n<p>Third base<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t see many safe, reliable choices in the second half of drafts, so I may be more likely to secure consistent Padres star <a data-player-guid=\"f648627a-f607-58d0-f02a-9282e6a7b5ef\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/31097\/manny-machado\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manny Machado<\/a> early, or Giants defender <a data-player-guid=\"2eb5e599-5517-7cf4-8f12-de7e6bd899f3\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/33857\/matt-chapman\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Chapman<\/a> around the top 100. Chapman is a walker with 27 home runs in three of five seasons, and a mid-round bargain. &#8230; It may feel like well-traveled Astro <a data-player-guid=\"519a39a3-6af2-5f0a-91b9-06a5424ed036\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/39706\/isaac-paredes\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Isaac Paredes<\/a> isn&#8217;t a lock for playing time, but this is too much power to simply not play. He has averaged 26 homers per 162 games for his career. &#8230; I seldom praise Phillies starter <a data-player-guid=\"458877c2-2a07-a05c-ec2e-5ac6671c0a49\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/mlb\/player\/_\/id\/41169\/alec-bohm\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alec Bohm<\/a>, but his ADP has fallen too much.
