Kristian Campbell made a horrendous throw to home, giving away a run and allowing runners to advance. Justin Slaten fell behind against every single batter he faced before giving up a game-ending sacrifice fly.<\/p>\n<p>And that was all in the extra frame!<\/p>\n<p class=\"nesn-in-content-ad__copy\">Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe didn\u2019t play well today,\u201d Cora said following the game, as seen on NESN. \u201cThe score was the score, but we walked the leadoff guy, we didn\u2019t cover first, we dropped a fly ball in left, we got thrown out at third, we made a bad play at the end. I think the score will say it was a good baseball game, but we didn\u2019t play well today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s obvious to many <a href=\"https:\/\/nesn.com\/2025\/05\/roman-anthony-call-up-red-sox-insider-shares-massive-take\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">where the team should look<\/a> to turn things around, but there doesn\u2019t seem to be much of a hurry to make changes to the roster.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to be better, from top to bottom, from the manager to the players,\u201d Cora said. \u201cWe have to be better. It\u2019s close in games and all that, but we have to find ways to win games. That\u2019s it. It\u2019s not early anymore, so we know who we are and we know what we have on the roster. That isn\u2019t going to change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Red Sox and Brewers produced plenty more news and notes on Wednesday:<\/p>\n<p class=\"nesn-in-content-ad__copy\">Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Alex Bregman was placed on the injured list between Game 1 and Game 2 of Saturday\u2019s doubleheader, which has led to a season-worst five-game losing streak.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Boston has lost 15 one-run games this season, by far the most in baseball.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Hunter Dobbins made the first relief appearance of his career, but it didn\u2019t go very well. Milwaukee immediately tagged him for two runs on two hits and one walk during his first inning of work.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Wilyer Abreu <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RedSox\/status\/1927807063700168732\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">walloped another home run<\/a> to tie the game in the seventh inning on Wednesday, putting him on pace to hit a ridiculous 38 home runs while slashing .255\/.336\/.505.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nesn-in-content-ad__copy\">Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 The Red Sox will stay on the road for their next series against the Atlanta Braves, kicking things off on Friday at Truist Park.
