Observations from Yankees spring training on Thursday:<\/p>\n

D\u00e9j\u00e0 vu<\/p>\n

Jasson Dom\u00ednguez blasted a homer off Justin Verlander from the left side<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It brought up memories of Dom\u00ednguez\u2019s first major league homer, which came off Verlander in Houston on Sept. 1, 2023.<\/p>\n

Dom\u00ednguez said he \u201cof course\u201d was thinking of that shot when he went up against Verlander again Thursday.<\/p>\n

Ben Rice is 0-for-8 with four strikeouts and a walk in his past three games.<\/p>\n

Defensively, however, he has looked fine so far at first base, which is the Yankees\u2019 main concern for him this spring.<\/p>\n

Max Schuemann, looking to compete for a backup infielder spot, didn\u2019t help his case when he was picked off first base by Kenley Jansen.<\/p>\n
