FORT MYERS, Fla. \u2014 Jarren Duran<\/a>\u2019s WBC run with Mexico is finished after losing in pool play. Roman Anthony<\/a>\u2019s WBC run with the United States is still alive with a date against the Dominican Republic in the semifinals Sunday.<\/p>\n

The two Red Sox<\/a> teammates met in pool play and put on quite a show, combining for three home runs<\/a>. Duran hit two for Mexico and Anthony hit one in the United States\u2019 5-3 victory this past Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was hard not to be proud of him to do that,\u201d Duran said. \u201cWe all know he\u2019s a stud, and for him to do that is super exciting. But I hope they go out and do their thing and play and continue to play good.\u201d<\/p>\n

In five WBC games, Anthony has gone 6-for-19 (.316) with a .435 on-base percentage, one home run, six RBIs and four runs. He also has more walks (four) than strikeouts (three).<\/p>\n

Duran said he\u2019ll be watching the semifinals.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love watching baseball,\u201d Duran said. \u201cI can never get enough of it. So I\u2019ll definitely be watching it and cheering for the boys to do good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duran went 5-for-15 (.333) with three home runs, one double, five RBIs, five runs and two steals in four WBC games.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlaying in those kind of games is just a different atmosphere,\u201d Duran said. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to explain unless you\u2019re there to hear how loud those fans are. It\u2019s really loud. Especially in Houston, where we all know it\u2019s indoors. It was insane.\u201d<\/p>\n
