The Chicago Cubs<\/a> have a good squad, but it should be better. They could also be a team to watch if the Miami Marlins<\/a> ultimately decide to move Sandy Alcantara during the season.<\/p>\n

Mike Axisa of CBS Sports recently linked Alcantara to the Cubs, adding that he’d make sense as an option if Miami goes its separate ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Marlins moved two veteran-ish starters this offseason (Edward Cabrera and Ryan Weathers) but hung on to Alcantara, who was a prime trade candidate last winter and again at last year’s trade deadline,\u201d Axisa wrote.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHe instead remains in Miami. How long will that last? I don’t think it will be too much longer given his $17 million salary this year and $21 million club option next year. Interested teams will give up more to get two postseasons of Alcantara rather than one, making a trade this summer more likely,\u201d Axisa added.<\/p>\n

For Chicago, Alcantara would be a massive addition. The only thing that worries me is the Cubs adding him and not doing anything else.<\/p>\n

We saw it happen with Kyle Tucker, but if the Cubs are going to try to get better in one area, they have to go all in. There’s no reason to be half in and half out.<\/p>\n
