The Minnesota Twins continue to work through their Spring Training activities with Grapefruit League action nearing a close. Opening Day is right around the corner on March 26th<\/a>, and Derek Shelton needs his team to be ready.<\/p>\n On Tuesday night Team USA is back in action playing for a World Baseball Classic championship. Team USA has not won it all since 2017<\/a>, and Mark DeRosa would like to change those fortunes.<\/p>\n Byron Buxton hasn\u2019t started since<\/a> March 9th against Mexico. Although he did get late-game appearances through the knockout round, he\u2019s back in the starting lineup against Venezuela.<\/p>\n Byron Buxton repping MN Twins for Team USA in title game<\/p>\n After Joe Ryan was passed over<\/a> to start the championship game for Team USA, it is just Byron Buxton representing the Minnesota Twins on the world stage. Against Venezuela in the championship game, he\u2019ll look to get opposing starter Eduardo Rodriguez from the nine hole.<\/p>\n The time spent with Team USA hasn\u2019t exactly prepped Buxton for regular season action. He\u2019s been out of Minnesota Twins camp since March 4th<\/a> and has just eight plate appearances to show for it. He has gone 0-for-6 at the plate.<\/p>\n Before leaving Twins camp, Buxton was 3-for-13 with two doubles <\/a>in 17 plate appearances. Questionable pitching decisions, and a outright not knowing the circumstances his team faced, have been just some of the missteps. Tuesday he\u2019ll have Buxton back in the lineup, and the hope is that Nolan McLean can rebound<\/a> with a strong start to get the job done.<\/p>\n More cuts from Minnesota Twins camp<\/p>\n While Buxton is currently out of Twins camp with Team USA, he still is among the numbers counted at present. All three are non-roster invitees without having cracked a spot on the 40-man roster. However, each of them should be expected to play at Triple-A St. Paul.<\/p>\n Fedko was left unprotected from the Rule 5 Draft<\/a> after hitting 28 homers<\/a> and stealing 38 bases last year. He went just 3-for-23 this spring though, and didn\u2019t push for a roster spot. A strong start could have him back in consideration.<\/p>\n Schobel was already at Triple-A St. Paul last season. Rosario parlayed a strong Arizona Fall League appearance in 2024 into an .844 OPS at Double-A last season.
