The Dodgers have come under fire since making their decision to go to the White House, with fans divided due to the polarized political climate.<\/a> Dodgers manager Dave Roberts insists the Dodgers\u2019 trip is purely tradition, and defended the decision when asked about it at DodgerFest.<\/p>\n \u201cI was raised \u2014 by a man who served our country for 30 years \u2014 to respect the highest office in our country. For me, it doesn\u2019t matter who is in the office, I\u2019m going to go to the White House. I\u2019ve never tried to be political,\u201d\u00a0Roberts told\u00a0the\u00a0Los Angeles Times\u2019 Bill Shaikin<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cFor me, I am going to continue to try to do what tradition says and not try to make political statements, because I am not a politician.\u201d<\/p>\n While the Dodgers do plan to visit, they will not be making their trip to the Oval Office during their early-season road trip to face the Washington Nationals, per the Orange County Register\u2019s Bill Plunkett<\/a>.
