Major League Baseball announced Monday that Phillies outfielder\u00a0Johan Rojas\u00a0has been suspended\u00a080 games\u00a0without pay for violating MLB\u2019s\u00a0Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.<\/p>\n
The suspension stems from a positive test for\u00a0Boldenone, according to the league. Rojas\u2019 appeal was\u00a0unsuccessful, and the discipline was\u00a0upheld.<\/p>\n
The news was first reported\u00a0March 3, and the ruling becomes official\u00a013 days\u00a0later, with Rojas remaining in Phillies camp and appearing in Grapefruit League games while the appeal played out. He was also turned away from participating for the\u00a0Dominican Republic\u00a0in the World Baseball Classic during that window.<\/p>\n
On March 4, Rojas declined to comment to reporters on the manner, due to the appeal.<\/p>\n

Because the suspension is 80 games, Rojas will be\u00a0ineligible for the postseason\u00a0in 2026. He did not make the Phillies\u2019 NLDS roster last October.<\/p>\n
Rojas becomes the second Phillie in as many years to be disciplined under MLB\u2019s program. Reliever\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Alvarado received an\u00a080-game\u00a0suspension last season. Free-agent, and member of the 2025 club, Max Kepler was also disciplined this offseason for performance enhancing drugs.<\/p>\n
The ruling also impacts the back end of Philadelphia\u2019s bench picture. Rojas had been in the mix as a defense-and-speed option in the outfield. With him sidelined into the summer, the Phillies are positioned to lean more heavily on their depth group in camp.<\/p>\n
