His command has been totally shot at times. His mechanics cannot be repeated, which can lead to a loss of feel.

The Japanese pitcher is only 24 years old, though, and he is adding a new pitch to his arsenal: his cutter. For us to maintain success as far as we can look out, it is imperative.”

Roberts, meanwhile, has remained steadfast in his stance that Sasaki will be a starter, despite his most recent start against the Royals on Tuesday, which led to his being pulled from the game.

“He is going to start the season in the rotation,” Roberts said

It is up to Sasaki to make the Dodgers right for their blind, unwavering faith in him, even as they risk looking foolish.

LA Baseball Report

Get the app for faster news

GET ×

The Los Angeles Dodgers are stubbornly sticking by pitcher Roki Sasaki, even as he has failed to impress…

[2290
5,110,558
0":"post-635527","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-baseball","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-roki-sasaki","10":"tag-top-stories
["GET
