{"id":636275,"date":"2026-03-22T00:33:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-22T00:33:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/636275\/"},"modified":"2026-03-22T00:33:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T00:33:13","slug":"aaron-judge-couldnt-seize-mr-march-moniker-as-clutch-narrative-hits-low-point","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/mlb\/636275\/","title":{"rendered":"Aaron Judge couldn&#8217;t seize Mr. March moniker as clutch narrative hits low point"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN DIEGO \u2014 As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven\u2019t deleted me yet from your social media), <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/21\/sports\/inside-george-steinbrenners-infamous-billy-martin-feud-with-yankees\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">I have a book coming out Tuesday called \u201cThe Bosses of The Bronx.\u201d<\/a> Much of it details the 37 years\u2019 worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner\u2019s time with the Yankees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Steinbrenner, as you may recall, once employed Reggie Jackson, who earned the title of Mr. October thanks in large part to the three home runs he hit in Game 6 of the 1977 World Series.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by that, when Derek Jeter hit a walk-off homer to win Game 4 of the 2001 World Series a few ticks past midnight as Oct. 31 bled into Nov. 1, Michael Kay immediately dubbed Jeter \u201cMr. November\u201d on the radio. Many others followed suit as it occurred to them a few minutes later.
