Wetherholt was the only player to receive an ETA of &#8220;Opening Day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Wetherholt may not have Griffin&#8217;s tools, but he might have the clearest path to the bigs among all elite prospects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">&#8220;The Pittsburgh native likely won&#8217;t have a chance to play shortstop with the Cards, since Masyn Winn has established himself as the best defender in the Majors there, but he has enough arm and quickness for any infield position,&#8221; Weinrib wrote. &#8220;Expect him to be the Opening Day second baseman and contend for NL Rookie of the Year honors.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Wetherholt, to be clear, has intriguing potential of his own. He had 17 homers and 23 steals in 109 games last season, which he split between Double-A and Triple-A.
