Father McGivney advanced to a sectional final for the fourth time in five seasons Wednesday by rolling past Christ Our Rock 17-2 in a Class 1A Greenville Sectional semifinal that was shortened to five innings by run rule at Greenville University.<\/p>\n

Seven players had two hits each for the Griffins (35-3)<\/a> \u2014 Omar Avalos, Ty Etcheson, Mason Holmes, Drew Kleinheider, Scott Phelps, Ben Sink and Justin Terhaar. Etcheson and Sink drove in three runs each, while Kannon Kamp, Kleinheider, Phelps and Terhaar drove in two runs apiece.<\/p>\n

Isaac Wendler struck out four in four innings to pick up the pitching victory for Father McGivney, which faces Hardin Calhoun at 11 a.m. Saturday for the sectional title.<\/p>\n

The Griffins are seeking their second consecutive sectional crown and third since 2021.<\/p>\n

Belleville East 3, Collinsville 1:<\/a> Tommy Kramkowski struck out 10 and threw a complete-game three-hitter as the Lancers won the Class 4A O’Fallon Regional semifinal at Blazier Field.<\/p>\n

Grady Davis, Lindemann and Kramkowski drove in one run each for East (21-15), which advanced to face host O’Fallon (24-10) at 3 p.m. Saturday for the regional title.<\/p>\n

Luke Robinson drove in the lone run for Collinsville (14-20), which got a solid outing on the mound from Carter Harrington, who struck out two in six innings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

O’Fallon 6, Alton 0:<\/a> Carson Bauer went 2 for 3 and drove in four runs to lead the Panthers to a victory in the Class 4A O’Fallon Regional semifinal.<\/p>\n

Connor Blue threw a seven-inning complete game, striking out a season-high 12 as O’Fallon (24-10) advanced to play host to another Southwestern Conference rival, Belleville East, at 3 p.m. Saturday in the regional title game.<\/p>\n

During the regular season, Alton (20-15) and O’Fallon split conference meetings.<\/p>\n

Triad 9, Jerseyville 3:<\/a> Nolan Keller threw five no-hit innings to help the Knights beat their Mississippi Valley Conference rivals in a Class 3A Civic Memorial Regional semifinal.<\/p>\n

Kannon Seipp went 3 for 4 to help lead the Knights’ offensive effort, while Hayden Bernreuter was 2 for 3 with two doubles and one RBI.<\/p>\n

Hayden Bugger and Gabe Deaver both drove in two runs for Triad (30-6), which will face Highland (22-13) at 11 a.m. Saturday in the regional title game.<\/p>\n

The Knights and Bulldogs shared the Mississippi Valley Conference title this season and split regular-season meetings May 14 and May 15.<\/p>\n

Highland 2, Civic Memorial 1:<\/a>\u00a0Braxdon Decker drove in the winning runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh as the Bulldogs ousted the host team in a Class 3A Civic Memorial Regional semifinal.<\/p>\n

Chase Knebel scattered five hits in a seven-inning complete-game effort for Highland (22-13), which advanced to face Triad (30-6) at 11 a.m. Saturday for the regional title.<\/p>\n

Highland finished fourth in the Class 3A state tournament last season.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs, in their last season under coach Joel Hawkins, were held to only four hits but pulled through in their last at-bat. Decker’s double drove in Blaise Hawkins and Nolan Houchins.<\/p>\n

Hardin Calhoun 5, Gibault 1:<\/a> Coming off their third consecutive regional title, the Hawks fell in the Class 1A Greenville Sectional semifinals.<\/p>\n

Tyler Frierdich, Dylan Schaefer, Kole Schilling, Nolan Snell and Michael Wessel had one hit each for Gibault (11-19).<\/p>\n
