With the Los Angeles Dodgers season starting in two days, their opening five-man rotation.<\/p>\n
Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts announced the rotation to start the season will be Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Shohei Ohtani, Emmet Sheehan and Roki Sasaki, Katie Woo of the Athletic reported. Justin Wrobleski will see starts this year, but will piggyback off of other starts to start the season.<\/p>\n
The 2025 World Series MVP will be on the bump for Opening Day when the Dodgers take on the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium. Last year, Yamamoto went 12-8 with 2.49 ERA and 201 strikeouts in 173.2 IP across 30 starts, placing third in Cy Young voting.<\/p>\n
Health has been an issue for Glasnow both with the Dodgers and the entirety of his MLB career, but when he\u2019s on the mound, he\u2019s been a quality starter. Across 40 starts between 2024 and 2025, Glasnow has posted a 13-9 record with a 3.37 ERA, 274 strikeouts and a 10.99 K\/9 in 224.1 innings.<\/p>\n

Ohtani hasn\u2019t pitched and hit for a full season since 2023 due to Tommy John surgery, but in 47 innings last year, he a 2.87 ERA and 62 strikeouts.<\/p>\n Sheehan and Wrobleski competed for the final spot, but it was Sheehan who will start in the rotation. Sheehan didn\u2019t pitch in 2024 due to injury, but returned to the mound in 2025, where he made 12 starts and three appearances as a reliever with a 2.82 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 73.1 IP.<\/p>\n Despite his struggles as a starter last season and this spring, the Dodgers are sticking behind Sasaki as a member of the rotation. Sasaki moved to the bullpen for the playoffs, where he had an 0.84 ERA, but all Spring Training, the Dodgers have said he\u2019s going to be a part of the rotation. Roberts said Snell is expected back around the end of May and Stone said last week he expects to start playing catch soon.<\/p>\n
