Clayton Kershaw probably figured his last public appearance in a Los Angeles Dodgers uniform arrived last November in Toronto, when he raced from the bullpen at Rogers Centre to the middle of the diamond to celebrate a World Series championship with his teammates.<\/p>\n
Not so fast. Kershaw\u2019s career is once again extending past the ninth inning, so to speak.<\/p>\n
MORE: Dodgers cut World Series champion three days before Opening Day<\/a><\/p>\n Kershaw, Angels center fielder Mike Trout, and A\u2019s first baseman Nick Kurtz teamed up \u2014 in their respective uniforms \u2014 in a new advertisement for MLB<\/a> 9 Innings that dropped March 25.<\/p>\n The ad shows Trout, Kershaw and Kurtz in what appears to be a draft for a company baseball team. Hilarity ensues when none of the three is drafted.<\/p>\n Bonus points for those who recognize the unique background scenery (visible through the \u201coffice\u201d window) that signals the scene of the ad as Tempe Diablo Stadium, spring training home of the Angels.<\/p>\n Kershaw, 38, was on the roster for Team USA in the recently completed World Baseball Classic<\/a>, but did not pitch in the Pool Play or elimination rounds.<\/p>\n Trout, 34, is entering his 16th MLB season, all with the Angels.
