Kaelen Culpepper\u2019s breezed through the Minnesota Twins\u2019 farm system, and many believe the 23\u2011year\u2011old shortstop is inching closer to an eventual major\u2011league debut. The former first\u2011round pick will open the 2026 season at Triple\u2011A St. Paul, placing him one stop away from Target Field and firmly in the club\u2019s plans heading into the year.<\/p>\n
Culpepper chatted with members of the Twin Cities media Wednesday afternoon at CHS Field in St. Paul. <\/p>\n
\u201cStarting out at big league camp, I learned a lot, was around some veteran guys.\u201d Culpepper said, reflecting on his development this spring. \u201cI got a lot of advice from the staff and everybody. There\u2019s a lot to take away. I\u2019m just ready for the season.\u201d<\/p>\n
Drafted with the 21st pick in 2024, Culpepper has quickly become the Twins\u2019 second\u2011ranked prospect. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe is a great talent, and can do a little bit of everything on a baseball field,\u201d said new Saints manager Brian Dinkelman. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to have him start the season here with us. Just to help him grow his baseball knowledge and instincts of the game. He\u2019s very cool in his demeanor and the way he carries himself on the ball field.\u201d<\/p>\n
