The Boston Red Sox<\/a> saw Caleb Durbin make his debut for their team, but a player they traded away for him stood out in his own debut with his new team.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox included David Hamilton in the deal to bring Durbin to Boston. Durbin went 0-for-3 with a walk in his Red Sox debut. He also committed an error, so it was not the best day for the Red Sox’s new third baseman. However, Hamilton had a great day for his new team. Hamilton went 1-for-2, but reached base four times.<\/p>\n

He reached on a catcher’s interference in the second inning. He singled in his next at-bat in the fourth inning and stole third base in the same inning. He walked in his next two at-bats, driving in a run with his second walk. He flew out in his final at-bat.<\/p>\n

Hamilton not only played great at the plate, but he also played stellar defense at third base. He moved over to shortstop when Luis Rengifo came into the game.<\/p>\n

Hamilton hit .222 with a .642 OPS in three seasons with the Red Sox. The Brewers had a need at third base with Durbin gone, and Hamilton fits their mold. He is a solid defender with great speed who can put together some pesky at-bats.<\/p>\n
