Baz, who wasn\u2019t scheduled to hit free agency until after the 2028 season, had two more years of arbitration eligibility, which will be foregone with the new extension.<\/p>\n
The extension is the largest given to a pitcher in Orioles history.<\/p>\n

Baz, 26, was traded from Tampa on December 19, 2025, in exchange for prospects\u00a0Austin Overn,\u00a0Caden Bodine,\u00a0Slater de Brun and Michael Forret, as well as a draft pick in the Competitive Balance Round A section of this year\u2019s MLB draft.<\/p>\n
Baz had a 4.87 ERA last season across 31 starts.<\/p>\n
