MLB home-plate umpire Doug Eddings should simply stop and ask Kansas City Royals<\/a> catcher\u00a0Salvador\u00a0Perez\u00a0what\u00a0the call should\u00a0be.<\/p>\n

Things would be so much easier on Eddings.<\/p>\n

Three times Friday night, Perez challenged\u00a0Eddings\u2019\u00a0calls<\/a> at the bottom\u00a0of the strike zone.<\/p>\n

Three times, the veteran\u00a0got ABS Challenge System officials to\u00a0overturn the\u00a0initial\u00a0decisions.<\/p>\n

Is Perez the early king of baseball\u2019s new trendy technology<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Salvador Perez\u00a0knows ball and strikes<\/p>\n

A 15-year veteran, Perez correctly\u00a0identified\u00a0three strike calls\u00a0initiated\u00a0by Eddings as missed opportunities.<\/p>\n

Perez went 3-for-3 after tapping the top of his helmet, signaling a digital judgment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got a pretty good idea (of the strike zone),\u201d Perez said, as reported\u00a0by The\u00a0Kansas City Star<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Perez\u2019s first replay request came in the fourth inning when Royals starter Cole Ragans released a\u00a0fourth-inning fastball, which crossed at the bottom of the zone. Eddings called a ball, and it was later proven incorrect. It marked the first challenge system call in Braves history.<\/p>\n

In the fifth inning of the Braves’ 6-0 victory at Truist Park, Perez issued challenges against Braves batters Eli White and\u00a0Mauricio\u00a0Dubon.<\/p>\n
