HOUSTON — \u2014 Isaac Paredes<\/a> hit a tiebreaking two-RBI double with two outs in the eighth inning to help the Houston Astros<\/a> to a 9-7 win over the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> on Sunday despite a disappointing major league debut from starter Tatsuya Imai<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There were two outs in the eighth when the Angels intentionally walked Yordan Alvarez<\/a> to give Houston runners at first and third. Alvarez stole second before Paredes hit a line drive off Drew Pomeranz<\/a> (0-1) to put Houston on top 8-6.<\/p>\n

Jose Altuve<\/a> followed with a double to push the lead to 9-6.<\/p>\n

Imai allowed three hits and four runs with four walks and four strikeouts in 2 2\/3 innings.<\/p>\n

The Astros are banking on him to have a big year after signing the right-hander to a three-year, $54 million contract following a stellar career in Japan where he was a three-time All-Star in eight seasons with the Pacific League\u2019s Seibu Lions.<\/p>\n

The Angels had two on with one out in the ninth when Bryan King<\/a> took over for Bryan Abreu<\/a>. Nolan Schanuel<\/a> hit an RBI single to cut the lead to two, but King struck out the next two batters for his first save.<\/p>\n

Jorge Soler<\/a> drove in three runs and Zach Neto<\/a> hit a two-run homer for the Angels as they split this series 2-2.<\/p>\n

The game was tied with one on and one out in the fourth inning when Neto made it 6-4 with his shot to the seats in left field.<\/p>\n

Christian Walker\u2019s two-RBI double with two outs in the fifth inning tied it 6-6. <\/p>\n

Christian V\u00e1zquez drove in two runs with a single in Houston\u2019s four-run second inning to give the Astros an early lead.<\/p>\n

There was one out in the third when Imai walked Neto before he moved to third on a single by Mike Trout<\/a>. Schanuel walked to load the bases and Soler cleared them with his double to the corner in left field to get the Angels within one.<\/p>\n

Jo Adell\u2019s two-out RBI single tied it at 4-4 and chased Imai.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles starter Jack Kochanowicz<\/a> allowed four hits and six runs with five walks in four innings.<\/p>\n
