In doing so, Hancock became just the second pitcher in Mariners history<\/a> to record at least nine strikeouts over six-plus innings of no-hit ball.<\/p>\n The other? Cleveland finished with just two hits.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Hancock, a 2020 first-round draft pick, is the Mariners\u2019 No. 6 starter. He\u2019s filling in for Bryce Miller, who opened the season on the injured list<\/a> with a strained oblique.<\/p>\n Hancock got six strikeouts with his four-seam fastball, two with his new-look sweeper<\/a> and one with his sinker, according to Baseball Savant<\/a>. His previous career high for strikeouts was seven, which he reached twice during the 2025 season.<\/p>\n Hancock, who made his MLB debut in August 2023, is coming off a strong spring.
