The Louisville Bats wasted no time on Sunday, scoring six runs in the 1st inning and never looking back. The pitchers racked up a ton of strikeouts once again in the 10-4 win that saw the Bats sweep the opening series and move to 3-0 on the year.<\/p>\n

The Louisville Bats won 10-4. Box Score<\/a>Blake Dunn<\/a> went 2-4 with two steals, two runs, a walk, and an RBI.Rece Hinds<\/a> went 2-2 with two walks, a run, and an RBI.JJ Bleday<\/a> went 1-2 with two walks and a run.Christian Encarnacion-Strand<\/a> went 2-4 with two RBI.Michael Chavis<\/a> went 1-4 with a walk, double, two runs, and two RBI.Will Banfield<\/a> went 1-4 with a walk, home run (1), two runs, and two RBI.Davis Daniel<\/a> allowed two runs in 4.0 innings with a walk and six strikeouts.Darren McCaughan<\/a> allowed a run in 3.0 innings with six strikeouts.Julian Garcia<\/a> allowed a run in 2.0 innings with two walks and three strikeouts.<\/p>\n

Game Notes<\/p>\n

The Bats scored six runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and did so in a lot of ways. There were two walks and a hit batter that led to baserunners. Two sacrifice flies produced runs. And there was both an RBI double and a 2-run home run in the inning.<\/p>\n

Blake Dunn got on base four times in the game and got on base eight times in the series (good for a .500 on-base percentage).<\/p>\n

Rece Hinds did even better. He also got on base four times in this game and in the series he got on base nine times. He\u2019s hitting .545 with three walks and three strikeouts in the three games this year. As I type this, which is 4:10pm ET on Sunday, Rece Hinds has the hardest hit baseball this year at 115 MPH in all of professional baseball (MLB and AAA) during the regular season. He also has the 5th hardest hit baseball at 114.1 MPH.<\/p>\n

Louisville hitters had nine walks on the day and just eight strikeouts. The team is hitting .301\/.413\/427 through the first three games of the season.<\/p>\n

The Bats pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts. They had 17 on Saturday and 14 in the season opener.<\/p>\n
