St. Louis Cardinals President of Baseball Operations Chaim Bloom appears to have \u201cmore of a fan\u2019s temperament on the inside than his public comments have shown to this point,\u201d according to Lynn Worthy of the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH. It has become \u201call too easy to view most baseball executives as almost robotic\u201d because of how they \u201crun organizations\u201d and the \u201cmanner in which they discuss the game.\u201d There have been \u201cseveral times\u201d when Bloom has seemed to \u201cfit into that category during his first few months at the helm.\u201d But Bloom \u201cseems to genuinely understand the fan\u2019s plight.\u201d Bloom said, \u201cWhere I do think we have a really, really intelligent fan base that can understand what we\u2019re doing and understand the reasons for it and that there are some things with this, as there are with every baseball season, that unfold over time.\u201d In an \u201cacknowledgment of emotion,\u201d it may seem a \u201csmall thing to get excited about, but we as the outside observers, fans and followers don\u2019t get a lot of emotion from the folks running clubs.\u201d Worthy: \u201cWe get probability and percentages. We get talk of projection and potential. \u2026 At least we now have a sign that the guy in charge of the Cardinals\u2019 long-term project isn\u2019t solely viewing this as a math equation that must be solved.\u201d Bloom added, \u201cI fully expect that we\u2019re going to hear it when things aren\u2019t going well because people care\u201d (ST.
