On Monday, he was a visitor for the Chicago White Sox<\/a>, but he sure did look right at home.<\/p>\n

Vargas hit a grand slam as part of a 2-for-4 day that included six RBI.<\/p>\n

In the process, he became just the third player in White Sox franchise history to have a game with six RBI out of the leadoff spot, according to stats guru @JayHayKid on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The most recent was Yoan Moncada, in 2018.<\/p>\n

Rip Radcliff also achieved the feat in 1936.<\/p>\n

Full name: Raymond Allen Radcliff<\/p>\n

Didn’t debut in MLB until 28 years old<\/p>\n

Also made an All-Star team with the White Sox in 1936 en route to hitting .335<\/p>\n

Career .311 hitter who didn’t play what would’ve been a couple more seasons at the end of his career due to serving in World War II<\/p>\n

Back to Vargas — he had a career-high .717 OPS last season with 60 RBI, so this is a strong start to the new season to try and build off that.<\/p>\n

And on Monday, he did it with familiar faces in the stands.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving my family here was a great motivation and to be able to give them that happiness and for them to have had enjoyed it as well was a special moment,\u201d Vargas said in Spanish after the game, via MLB.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The White Sox have also now hit back-to-back grand slams for the fourth time in franchise history.<\/p>\n

Chicago was swept over the weekend, but thanks to Vargas, the White Sox have their first win.<\/p>\n
