The Seattle Mariners (3-2) took the opening matchup of the homestand against the New York Yankees (3-1) in a 2-1 finish, and with plenty of power in both lineups, we get another star-studded game tonight.

Here’s a betting prediction and pick for tonight’s Yankees vs. Mariners matchup courtesy of MLB odds and lines on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Yankees vs. Mariners prediction, preview

So, the Yankees suffered their first loss of the season last night as their offense was largely shut down, tallying only five hits and one run. That’s no reason to panic, but the bats have recorded only a .624 OPS through the first four games with a .224/.281/.343 slash line to start the season. That OBP is somewhat concerning, as is the fourth-lowest BB/K ratio at only 0.26. Now, that doesn’t mean to go scream to the heavens that the Yankees are done for — I can assure you they are, in fact, still a top contender. A .119 ISO is also a little atypical for this team though, as is Aaron Judge’s 3-for-16 start to 2026. That’s sure to normalize with time, though. Still, telling fans that the arms would open the season better than the bats would’ve come as a shock to many, especially with an MLB-best 0.76 ERA and 0.91 WHIP through four games. Plus, a 27.7% K% looks quite nice.

The Mariners are coming off back-to-back wins with last game actually their first output of fewer than four runs. They did still muster up nine knocks with just those two runs, and three players recorded multi-hit games. The M’s remain sixth in scoring with 24 total runs and ninth in OPS at .752 after slashing .218/.328/.424. They rank second in ISO at an impressive .206 and have eight homers thus far, so clearly, power is already no problem. While Seattle’s K% at the plate is high at 28.6%, the team has a 12.5% BB% and respectable 0.44 BB/K ratio, too. The Mariners’ excellent start doesn’t end there, though. They have the third-best ERA at 2.35 and are tied for the lead in WHIP at 0.91, also sitting third in K% at 31.8%. They’re doing plenty right, and if the staff continues to throw like this, the ceiling is super high.

The visiting Yankees start southpaw Max Fried, who delivered 6.1 shutout innings in his season debut with just two hits allowed, one walk and four strikeouts. Last season, he racked up a 2.86 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 189 punchouts in 195.1 innings, obviously performing as one of the top pitchers in the game. He forced plenty of ground palls and soft contact with 89th and 92nd-percentile scores in GB% and average exit velocity.

Right-hander Logan Gilbert gets the nod for the Mariners after going 5.1 innings with five hits and three earned runs allowed in his opening start, though he also struck out seven. He ended 2025 with a 3.44 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a staggering 173 strikeouts in just 131 innings of work, good for a 94th-percentile K%. He was one of the best swing-and-miss pitchers of anyone, which should continue this year.

Yankees vs. Mariners pick, best bet

DraftKings Sportsbook lists the Yankees as -115 Moneyline favorites on the road this evening, while the Mariners hold -105 odds to win outright. The run total sits at a combined seven.

Best Bet: First five innings – Under 3.5 runs (-120)

Talk about a pitching matchup for the ages. This is one of the best duels of the young season and should lead to a very low-scoring first few innings. I even considered under 2.5 for this first five innings market, but I like getting the extra wiggle room with this one. Both teams have plenty of quality bats, but Fried and Gilbert are two of the best in the business. Enough said.

Strong Lean: Logan Gilbert over 7.5 strikeouts (+103)

Gilbert didn’t pitch a ton of innings last season but still finished top 30 in strikeouts around the MLB. That 94th-percentile K% was truly elite and he graded out in the 93rd percentile in whiff rate as well as the 76th in chase rate. That echoed his 2024 campaign with some similarly impressive advanced numbers. He’s one of the MLB’s most productive punchout guys and now takes on a Yankees lineup that’s loved to take its fair share of hacks in recent years.

Keagan Smith gives you a preview, prediction and pick for today’s game between the New York Yankees and…

[2376
5,4,1690,62,2548,2547,142
0":"post-655337","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-new-york-yankees","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-mlb","10":"tag-new-york","11":"tag-new-york-yankees","12":"tag-newyork","13":"tag-newyorkyankees","14":"tag-yankees
["GET
