Kaelen Culpepper is already making waves. The Minnesota Twins’ No. 2 prospect<\/a> made his Triple-A debut this season and got off to an impressive Opening Day effort<\/a>. But it didn’t just end there for Culpepper.<\/p>\n

Splitting time between High-A and Double-A in 2025, Culpepper has already settled in with the St. Paul Saints through three games. He went 5-for-14 (.357) in his opening series, scoring three times alongside one home run, four RBIs, and one walk.<\/p>\n

After earning Twins Minor League Player of the Year honors in 2025 (.289\/.375\/.469\/.844), it was clear that Culpepper was destined for Triple-A in 2026. The 23-year-old infielder already has fans wondering when he will be called up to the majors, or maybe even if he deserves a long-term extension at a bargain rate.<\/a><\/p>\n

Culpepper has a mighty right-handed swing, and if he continues to bash in the minor leagues, we could see him sneaking onto the MLB roster, especially if guys like Tristan Gray, Ryan Kreidler, or Orlando Arcia aren’t getting it done.<\/p>\n

As it stands, Culpepper is ranked 50th overall in the MLB Top 100, and 16th among all shortstops. He stands with elite company, and even though we are only a few games into the 2026 minor league campaign, keeping Culpepper on your radar is already worth your time. He could be suiting up at Target Field sooner than we may think, even if his MLB estimated time of arrival is not until 2027.<\/p>\n

If he is dominating the competition, it may not be worth keeping him down any longer. It would be pretty cool if he and Walker Jenkins, the top two prospects in Minnesota’s farm, are brought up together. Until then, it will be fun to envision a future with them in the Twins’ lineup.<\/p>\n
