LOS ANGELES (KABC) — One of the biggest highlights of the Dodgers’ season<\/a> so far happened between innings.<\/p>\n

When star closer Edwin Diaz came in to make his regular season debut, his walk out to the mound was magnified by Tatiana Tate. The trumpet extraordinaire blared a live version of Diaz’s iconic entrance song, “Narco.” The energy from the Friday night crowd at Dodger Stadium was electric.<\/p>\n

“I just grew up going to Dodgers games and just having a love,” Tate told ABC7. “And when we signed Diaz last year, I said, ‘Oh, it’s going to be on and poppin’.'”<\/p>\n

Days later, the talented musician is still blown away by that moment, describing it as something she’ll “never forget for the rest of my life.”<\/p>\n

“It’s just really cool to say, ‘Hey, I play for the Dodgers.’ Like what? As a Cali girl, it’s really a blessing,” Tate said.<\/p>\n

Tate doesn’t want to toot her own horn but says the Dodgers organization approached her with the opportunity.<\/p>\n

“It was the first time they had ever did something like that, and it was also a secret,” she said. “I’m really happy that not only my talent showed but because I invested in my brand, I invested in my social media, that kind of helped propel me to that opportunity.”<\/p>\n

The positive reaction to the surprise performance is music to Tate’s ears.<\/p>\n

“I walk out, people are like, ‘That’s that trumpet lady,’ and they all start getting hyped and then I start getting hyped all over again,” she said. “It’s an immense amount of love.”<\/p>\n

Tate hopes to close out future games as the Dodgers’ quest for a three-peat gets underway.<\/p>\n
