In terms of the Blue Jays Triple-A affiliate Buffalo Bisons, they also have a few key players starting the year on the sidelines, including Ricky Tiedemann, Jake Bloss and Ryan Jennings.

At the same time, that also presents opportunities for other promising prospects to help fill the void. That is exactly what had taken place as the Blue Jays gave promotions to four minor leaguers to Triple-A Buffalo prior to the start of the minor league season. Those players included infielders Charles McAdoo and Ryan McCarty, and right-handed pitchers Grant Rogers and Devereaux Harrison.

Charles McAdoo, Grant Rogers, Ryan McCarty, and Devereaux Harrison were all promoted to Triple-A Buffalo prior to Friday’s opening day game.

Ricky Tiedemann (7-day IL), Ryan Jennings (7-day IL), and Jake Bloss (60-day IL) begin the season on the injured list.

— Blue Jays Prospect Tracker (@jays_tracker) March 29, 2026Blue Jays promote four intriguing minor leaguers to Triple-A Buffalo

Among the four candidates, McAdoo was the most notable of the group. Currently ranked No. 26 on the Blue Jays top prospects list according to MLB Pipeline. He was the key return in the Toronto trade with the Pittsburgh Pirates back at the 2024 deadline that sent utilityman Isiah Kiner-Falefa the other way.

On top of that, McAdoo made a strong first impression with the Blue Jays during the early parts of Spring Training. Last season, he spent the entire year with the Double-A New Hampshire where he compiled a .247 batting average, .732 OPS, along with 62 runs scored, 24 doubles, 16 home runs, 45 RBIs and 34 stolen bases in 121 games played.

In terms of McCarty, he signed with the Blue Jays as a free agent in 2022 after going undrafted during the 2022 MLB Draft. However, the 26-year-old prospect has yet to make his MLB debut with Toronto after spending four seasons already with the organization. In 2025, McCarty split his time between New Hampshire and Buffalo, posting a .225 average, .654 OPS, together with 40 runs scored, 17 doubles, five home runs and 27 RBIs in 112 total games.

As for Rogers, he has impressed as a late-round pick after he was taken in the 11th round of the 2023 MLB Draft. The 24-year-old pitcher is currently ranked 30th on the Blue Jays top prospects list as per MLB Pipeline and is coming off a solid 2025 campaign in which he amassed an 11-10 record, 3.47 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, along with 115 strikeouts in 150.1 innings pitched over 28 minor league starts.

Finally for Harrison, he was selected by Toronto in the ninth round back in the 2022 MLB Draft. The 25-year-old pitcher had spent the bulk of his 2025 year with New Hampshire, going 6-8 with a solid 3.68 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, together with 93 strikeouts in just 88 innings of work over 28 appearances that included 14 starts.

All four players are now one step closer in fulfilling their dreams of playing in the majors. And with the way that the Blue Jays have been hit with injuries this year so far, that dream could ultimately become a reality potentially sooner than they expect it.

Injuries haven’t been hitting just the Toronto Blue Jays big league roster to start the 2026 MLB season.…

[2378
5,377,2554,4,282,70,2553
0":"post-656816","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-toronto-blue-jays","8":"tag-baseball","9":"tag-blue-jays","10":"tag-bluejays","11":"tag-mlb","12":"tag-toronto","13":"tag-toronto-blue-jays","14":"tag-torontobluejays
["GET
