Gallen gave up four hits and struck out two, needing 88 pitches in six innings. Jonathan Lo\u00e1isiga handled the ninth inning for his first save with the Diamondbacks, and just the ninth of his nine-year career.<\/p>\n

It was Alcantara\u2019s second career shutout with fewer than 100 pitches, known as a \u201cMaddux\u201d in honor of Hall of Famer Greg Maddux. It was his 13th career complete game. Liam Hicks homered, had two singles and drove in four runs to increase his major league-leading count of RBIs to 12. Otto L\u00f3pez also went deep and Graham Pauley doubled twice for the Marlins, who ended the homestand 5-1, their best start since 2020.<\/p>\n

Matt Shaw had two hits and two RBIs, and Alex Bregman reached three times in the rubber game of the three-game series. Boyd allowed two runs, one earned, and two hits over 5 2\/3 innings in his second start of the season. Zach Neto had two of the Angels\u2019 four hits. These developments come a day after Woods entered a not guilty plea to suspicion of driving under the influence. His SUV clipped a trailer and flipped on its side last week near his home in Florida. Woods posted a statement Tuesday night saying he was stepping away indefinitely to focus on his health. His attorney, Douglas Duncan, said Woods needs comprehensive inpatient treatment that cannot be done safely in the United States.<\/p>\n

FIFA raised its top ticket price for the World Cup final to $10,990 during the glitch-hampered reopening of sales after the 48-team field for this year\u2019s tournament was finalized. FIFA\u2019s category 2 tickets for the July 19 game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, were $7,380, up from $5,575, and category 3 cost $5,785, an increase $4,185. Team president Kevin Warren says the Chicago Bears hope to choose a site for an enclosed stadium in Illinois or Indiana late this spring or early in the summer. Warren told reporters at the NFL meetings in Arizona that the Bears are in an \u201cexcellent\u201d position as they mull building a new home on land they own in suburban Arlington Heights, Illinois, or in Hammond, Indiana, even though they had hoped to start construction last year. Indiana lawmakers are attempting to lure them from the Windy City with a plan to finance and build a domed stadium in Hammond, about 25 miles from their current home on Lake Michigan\u2019s shore. The Illinois General Assembly has responded with legislation that would give tax breaks to so-called megaprojects of at least $100 million.<\/p>\n
