Matthew Boyd started against Yusei Kikuchi . The Cubs went hitless until the third, when they batted around and scored five runs<\/a>. Jeimer Candelario did not have his best day at first base. Nico Hoerner lined a couple of tw0-baggers, scored, stole a base, and singled to boot.<\/p>\n

Boyd had it going on. Ten strikeouts in 5.2 innings. He faltered a bit late. Hunter Harvey gave up a couple of hard-hit balls that probably should have been caught, and the Angels had the chance to make a game of it. They didn\u2019t \u2014 the bullpen had it together. The team is 3-3, back to .500. Onward and upward.<\/p>\n
