Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto didn’t have his best stuff, allowing two runs over six innings with just two strikeouts. The Dodgers offense totaled just five hits, with three of them coming from Andy Pages.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously, you\u2019re asking a question to compartmentalize the offense to the team. And I want to start with, we\u2019re 4-2, so that\u2019s a good thing,\u201d Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after the game. \u201cBut yeah, it\u2019s obviously a very talented lineup, and right now, it just seems like a lot of guys are in-between.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think you still got to give credit to the guys making pitches. I think that we\u2019ll get in our groove.\u201d<\/p>\n
Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams shut down the Dodgers lineup, allowing just two hits across seven innings while striking out 10. The Dodgers managed a run in the ninth inning on a Freddie Freeman home run, his first of the year.<\/p>\n
Before the game, the Dodgers made a trade, acquiring left-handed pitcher Jake Eder from the Washington Nationals. Eder was designated for assignment over the weekend, and the Dodgers decided to send some cash to the Nationals to make the deal happen.<\/p>\n
Eder was sent to Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he’ll look to develop into a viable major league option for LA at some point this season.<\/p>\n
In other news, the Dodgers recently cut ties with four players over the last week of March. Three pitchers and one catcher were released from the organization after varying lengths of time with the club.<\/p>\n
Finally, the Dodgers made another roster move on Wednesday, claiming a pitcher off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Right-handed pitcher Grant Holman was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks last week, and will now look to develop in the Dodgers organization. He was sent to the Arizona Complex League, where he’ll look to work his way up through the minor league ranks.<\/p>\n
