He has a 1.007 OPS so far in seven games, recording two home runs, three RBIS, and two stolen bases.

Those base-steals are a huge reason why Trout seems to be more back than he’s been in years past. His athleticism, even if it’s not matching his prime, looks to be in a much better spot than it has been recently.

Trout’s production at the plate is going to regress a bit as the year goes on, as do every player’s numbers after a hot start. But his production could stay relatively high all year long.

More: Jacob DeGrom is only 149 strikeouts from 2,000 for his career

He has that kind of upside, especially if he can stay healthy. Even if it’s not an MVP-level season like he had in his prime, Trout could have a monster season in 2026, one where he reminds the MLB world of how great he truly is.

Asking Trout to be healthy for a full season might be a tall order, as he’s struggled to stay on the field the last few seasons due to a litany of injuries.

But if he can stay on the field and his production doesn’t take a nosedive, Trout could be in store for a “monster” 2026 that could earn him some more MVP votes this late in his career.

More MLB news:

The Los Angeles Angels don’t have a whole lot to be excited about in the 2026 MLB season,…

[2390
291,5,1165,446,3223,774,56,3224,3222,4
0":"post-658862","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-los-angeles-angels","8":"tag-angels","9":"tag-baseball","10":"tag-la","11":"tag-la-angels","12":"tag-laangels","13":"tag-los-angeles","14":"tag-los-angeles-angels","15":"tag-losangeles","16":"tag-losangelesangels","17":"tag-mlb
["GET
