The Los Angeles Angels<\/a> don’t have a whole lot to be excited about in the 2026 MLB season, but Mike Trout is proving otherwise.<\/p>\n

Despite the book seemingly being over with Trout’s career as a superstar after years of injuries and inconsistent play, Trout’s start to 2026 is very encouraging.<\/p>\n

It’s such a good start that MLB.com’s Rhett Bollinger<\/a> believes Trout is in store for a “monster” year if he can do just one thing: stay healthy.<\/p>\n

Mike Trout could have ‘monster’ season if he’s healthy<\/p>\n

“The old Mike Trout looks back,” Bollinger writes. “… If he can stay on the field, he could be in for a monster year.”<\/p>\n

It has only been one week of the MLB season, but Trout, the Angels’ future Hall of Fame outfielder, is off to a great start. He has a 1.007 OPS so far in seven games, recording two home runs, three RBIS, and two stolen bases.<\/p>\n

Those base-steals are a huge reason why Trout seems to be more back than he’s been in years past. His athleticism, even if it’s not matching his prime, looks to be in a much better spot than it has been recently.<\/p>\n

Trout’s production at the plate is going to regress a bit as the year goes on, as do every player’s numbers after a hot start. But his production could stay relatively high all year long.<\/p>\n

He has that kind of upside, especially if he can stay healthy. Even if it’s not an MVP-level season like he had in his prime, Trout could have a monster season in 2026, one where he reminds the MLB world of how great he truly is.<\/p>\n

Asking Trout to be healthy for a full season might be a tall order, as he’s struggled to stay on the field the last few seasons due to a litany of injuries.<\/p>\n

But if he can stay on the field and his production doesn’t take a nosedive, Trout could be in store for a “monster” 2026 that could earn him some more MVP votes this late in his career.<\/p>\n
