The Lady Warriors won their first three games by an average of nine runs.<\/p>\n<p>Williamson kicked off the season with a 12-5 victory against Northeast Bradford at home on Wednesday, March 25.<\/p>\n<p>Northeast Bradford put four runs on the board in the top of the first, but Williamson responded in short order. The Lady Warriors answered with seven runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a three run lead.<\/p>\n<p>After a shaky start, Williamson\u2019s Olivia Gee settled in and held Northeast Bradford scoreless over the next three innings. Gee finished the day with three strikeouts and earned the W.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, at the plate, the Lady Warriors padded their lead with two runs in the second and another three in the fourth.<\/p>\n<p>Kenna Thomas came on in relief of Gee in the fifth and earned the save as she struck out four and allowed just one run in three innings of work.<\/p>\n<p>Jocelyn Colegrove led the Lady Warriors at the plate, going 3-5 with a home run, a double and five RBIs. Alexis Sprague and Thomas account for the other two RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her work from the pitching circle, Gee had a productive night at the plate also going 2-4.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Warriors followed the season opening victory with another dominant performance in an 11-1 five-inning win against Sayre on Thursday night.<\/p>\n<p>The ball was jumping off the bat as the Lady Warriors wracked up nine hits and 10 RBIs in the contest. Thomas and Colegrove delivered a home run each. Colegrove was 3-3 at the plate and drove in six runs to give her 11 RBIs through the first two games of the season.<\/p>\n<p>From the circle, Thomas tossed a gem, striking out eight and allowing just two hits and one run in five innings.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Warriors strong start continued when they hosted Line Mountain on Monday, March 30.<\/p>\n<p>Line Mountain put two runs on the board in the top half of the first, but the visitor\u2019s lead was short lived. Williamson erased the early deficit with a three run first.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas drove in Sprague from third with a pop-up to right. Then Gee and Lexi Smalley crossed the plate later in the inning to take the lead.<\/p>\n<p>Colegrove homered for the third-straight game and finished the night 1-3 with three RBIs.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Warriors had nine hits and nine RBIs in the victory.<\/p>\n<p>Gee picked up her second win as she recorded four strikeouts and allowed four hits and three runs in 3.1 innings. Thomas recorded the save with five strikeouts in 2.2 innings work.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Warriors were looking to make it four-straight wins to start the season when they faced Cowanesque Valley the next night. The Lady Indians entered the contest 3-0 with wins against Canton, Coudersport and Northeast Bradford.<\/p>\n<p>The Lady Indians took a one-run lead in the top of the first, before Williamson answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Williamson didn\u2019t allow Cowanesque to hold a lead for the rest of the night, putting up four runs in the second and another two in the third to secure an 8-3 lead through three innings. The Lady Warriors put four more runs across the plate over their final three at-bats to earn their fourth straight victory.<\/p>\n<p>Gee and Laila Hackett both had home runs for Williamson. Gee finished the night 3-3 with two RBIs while Hackett went 1-4 with two RBIs. Thomas led the team with three RBIs on a 2-2 night at the plate. Colegrove\u2019s home run streak came to an end in the win as she went 1-3 with one RBI.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas pitched a complete game and finished the night with 10 strikeouts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Williamson softball team has been on a tear to start the season.
