Spring is in full swing and acting like a slugger with how active the week has been, with fluctuating temperatures and a parade of systems pushing through the region.

I’m happy to say up front that for those of you heading to Fenway for the home opener on Friday, you’re going to be in for a mostly great day at the ballpark.

The Red Sox take on the San Diego Padres and are in desperate need of a win after a rough 1-5 start. First pitch is set for 2:10 p.m., and skies should ebb and flow between partly and mostly sunny skies.

Temperatures should push into the 60s during the game, and could actually reach a degree or two warmer than what’s listed below, should fewer clouds enter the picture. You’ll need your sunglasses in addition to the glove, of course.

There will be a bit of a breeze building during the game, but with the ballpark mostly protected, you shouldn’t feel it very much. But it might be nice to bring the windbreaker for the walk to the car or train.

The forecast across Fenway Park for Friday’s home opener.Boston Globe

The favorable weather might now help the Sox on Friday. I found that over the last 10 years, the Red Sox are 1-3 with similar weather during the home opener.

As we look at the first series at home heading into the weekend, Saturday and Sunday should deliver mostly cloudy skies with Saturday’s game seeing naturally cooler temperatures with the 4:10 p.m. start.

Showers might enter the picture on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is at 1:35 p.m., but a spot shower or two may make its way over the ballpark. Rain should be light and brief, but worth grabbing the rain jacket for the trip to Fenway.

The weather for the first home series of the season at Fenway Park.Boston Globe

Here are a few Red Sox-related weather stats for previous home openers.

• The average high for April 4 is 52 degrees.
