DETROIT (FOX 2) – The Tigers<\/a> head to Comerica Park on Friday for their home opener \u2014 basically a holiday in Detroit.<\/p>\n

Here’s everything you need to know before attending the game against the Cardinals:<\/p>\n

When is the Tigers game? <\/p>\n

\u00a0The opening pitch will be thrown out at 1:10 p.m. April 3.<\/p>\n

Opening Day weather <\/p>\n

As of Thursday morning, the weather for Opening Day looks great.<\/p>\n

Thunderstorms are in the forecast for Thursday evening and night<\/a>, but those will fade by Friday morning, setting the stage for a perfect day for baseball in Detroit.<\/p>\n

It’ll be a breezy but mild day in the city, with temperatures forecasted to be nearly 70 by first pitch at 1:10 p.m. Those temps are expected to tick up a few more degrees as the day progresses.<\/p>\n

\"\" Parking for Opening Day <\/p>\n

Spot Hero allows you to see nearby parking options and prices. Plus, you can use the website to book a spot now, so it is reserved and paid for when you get there.<\/p>\n

Spaces are currently available at lots a couple blocks from Comerica Park, but you’ll have to pay $100+ to park there.<\/p>\n

If you would rather not shell out that much cash for a parking spot, walking will be your best bet. The farther you get from the ballpark, the less you’ll be paying, with prices as low as $10 if you choose to add some extra steps to your day.<\/p>\n

Comerica Park bag policy <\/p>\n

Single-compartment bags, wallets, and clutches that are smaller than 4 inches by 6 inches by 1 \u00bd inches, with or without a handle or strap, are permitted. Bags, purses, and clutches larger than this are not allowed.<\/p>\n

This policy does not include diaper bags or medical bags such as ones used to carry breast pumps, oxygen, insulin, and epi-pens. These bags can be up to 16 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches.<\/p>\n

Beyond the bag policy, Comerica Park has a long list of prohibited items.<\/p>\n

Getting around Detroit <\/p>\n

Beyond driving and walking, there are several other options for getting around downtown.<\/p>\n

MoGo\u00a0 <\/p>\n

MoGo bike stations are around Detroit, making it easy to get around on two wheels.<\/p>\n

There are several options for using the bikes:<\/p>\n

– Pay As You Go Pass: $1 to unlock, 25 cents a minute<\/p>\n

– 1 Hour Pass: $10<\/p>\n

– Explore the City (unlimited number of trips up to 60 minutes in duration and is available for three days): $15<\/p>\n

– Prepaid Pass (Two hours of ride time that can be broken up into several trips or used all at once): $18<\/p>\n

– Monthly Pass (Unlimited number of 60-minute trips for 30 days): $20<\/p>\n

– Annual Pass (Unlimited number of 60-minute trips for one year): $90<\/p>\n

– Access pass (Unlimited number of 60-minute trips for one year for people on Food Assistance, Cash Assistance\/Family Independence, Medicaid, Health Michigan Plan, Children’s Special Health Care Services, and Child Care Assistance): $5<\/p>\n

The QLINE <\/p>\n

QLINE rides are free. The streetcar has 12 stops along Woodward. It runs from 8 a.m. to midnight on Mondays through Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays.<\/p>\n

The commuter lot near the Detroit Amtrak station is an option for hassle-free parking near the QLINE. There Wayne State University park and ride lot available for $5 on Fridays. Lot 12 at 6050 Woodward is a quick walk to the QLINE Amsterdam station.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Buses <\/p>\n

Both DDOT and SMART buses will be running Friday to help fans get around.<\/p>\n

All SMART fixed routes in Metro Detroit will be free on Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rideshare <\/p>\n

For those not walking to drive, walk, or take public transit. Lyft and Uber are both options for getting to and from the game.<\/p>\n
